Westport Woods Hotel & Spa

Location: The hotel is situated in a lovely scenic location, ideal for relaxation and walks, which was frequently praised by users.

We were a group of 30 ladies and had an amazing weekend. The staff were great especially Kay, Annette and the lovely Seamus. Everything about it was great. We would recommend a stay there anytime.

We wife and I stayed at then hotel for a 5 night social dancing break from 28th September, having enjoyed many similar breaks there over the years. On the evening of Wed 1st Oct my wife discovered that a bottle of perfume (50ml Chanel No.5), which was almost full, was missing from the room. Having carried out a thorough search of the room which failed to located the perfume we could only conclude that it had been taken (stolen) by someone unknown who had access to room. We reported the matter to the receptionist who indicated she would report it to her manager and that someone would contact us the following morning. However, nobody contacted us. Checking out on Friday morning, in response to the receptionist enquiring how we found our stay, we told her of our experience. She immediately contacted a duty manager, who approached us along along with the housekeeping supervisor. We told them how the perfume had disappeared from our room. Their response was to say that, whilst they were sorry about our loss, that they could not accept nor suspect that any member of the hotel staff would have been involved. They would however report our complaint to the next management meeting. We left the hotel thinking we might hear something of the outcome of the management meeting after we had returned home, However, we heard nothing further and so I wrote to the General Manager of the hotel on 21st October but to date we have had no response. We are very disappointed with our experience on this occasion and the lack of meaningful response from the hotel management. We will now have to think seriously whether we would return to the Hotel in the future.
